Blue Ridge
3 1/2 hour, 26 mile round trip winds along the beautiful Toccoa River in vintage climate controlled or open air railcars.

 Dahlonega
When you visit, you will be taken on an underground tour of the gold mine by their friendly, knowledgeable staff. Consolidated Gold Mine in Dahlonega was the site of America’s first gold rush. After the tour you can do some gold panning, and gem grubbing.

The Crisson Gold Mine dates back to 1847and is open for tours, gem grubbing and gold panning.
Located 2 1/2 miles north of town on US Highway 19 Connector. This operating 10-stamp mill is demonstrated as part of the Crisson Gold Mine Tour. Pan for gold or try you luck at gem grubbing, where you can find rubies, emeralds, garnets, and even more. Open every day except Christmas.

Southern Tree Plantation Fall Fun
4.7 miles south of Blairsville
Pumpkins, Hayrides, Petting Farm, Marshmallow Roasting, Mountain Crafts, Maze, Playground, Pony rides, Kids Train Ride. Available during selected weekends. Located in the heart of the North Georgia Mountains. You'll find all this at Southern Tree Plantations "Fall Fun on the Farm" event. Southern Tree Plantation is a working farm currently growing thousands of pumpkins and Christmas trees.

Free public shows are presented every Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 PM while NGCSU is in session

The general public and students are also invited to come out on Friday nights after the planetarium show for Observatory-Planetarium Public Education Nights (OPEN), weather permitting. The Friday OPEN program always begins at 9:30 pm during daylight or standard time. Call 706-864-8642 after 5:30 pm EST (7:30 pm EDT) for daily operational status.
